Haunted, bewitched and romantic Easter eggs
Hi everyone.
I hope this finds you well? Before we truly dive in, I want to pay my dues. As Easter is looming, with all its quirky customs, which are really revenants (yes, I mean revenants, this is not me misspelling remnants) from older weirder times, like searching for hidden chocolate or real boiled, colourful eggs in the garden, I thought you would appreciate that I am scattering my texts with some hidden eggs for you to find as well. You will perhaps discover, among other things, references to beloved lesfic authors such as Milena McKay and Haley Cass, to Lana Popović Harper, works by Tamsyn Muir, K Arsenault Rivera, classic ghost stories (yes, of course, EA Poe and Shirley Jackson), Dr Who, Star Trek, and many more.
My disclaimer is that I have no responsibility for any utterances of any voices that are not my own, or their opinion, should something sinister arise with some work or person I reference, with any section of pop culture, or anything really. And while I try to be on top of current developments, I have a demanding job with little time and a whole life to live, and so I can only truly influence what I do and attempt to be on the right side of events and history, myself.
That all said - good hunting for my Easter eggs. If you do not know the authors, I think you will find out that I will gently but persistently nudge you into getting to know them, and many others more.
I especially would like to point out for now that I drew strength and courage from the characters created by Milena McKay, when I myself had nothing of the sort. They did indeed take me apart and put me back together, in another way though than they do each other in her stories ;)
As always, Mia
